Welcome to the Web site for 'Our Lady & St Edward's Catholic Primary School'

Our Lady & St Edward's Catholic Primary School is situated in Lightfoot Lane, Fulwood, just off Garstang Road (A6) near the M55 (Jcn.1) to the north of Preston, Lancashire. The school building dates from the 1960’s and is light and open with bright classrooms, overlooking extensive playing fields and a garden area.

The school caters for boys and girls, aged 5 – 11 years old. It serves the parish community of Our Lady & St. Edward’s with a few children coming from the surrounding district. Our Lady & St. Edward’s is a thriving community and the majority of our families attend church on a regular basis and many are very actively involved in the life of the parish. The school and the parish are very closely linked.

Our parents are very supportive of the work of the school and the majority of our pupils are enthusiastic and well motivated. We have some very bright children and the majority are above average in their attainment. We also take pride in the fact that we admit children with significant special needs and that they make good progress, are well integrated and happy within our community.

We have a strong tradition of musical and drama activities, including extra curricular provision. Our curriculum includes two hours of P.E. a week at both Key Stages and we also offer a range extra curricular sport.

The school was inspected in November 2005 and was found to be a good school, providing outstanding value for money.

To assist working parents the school has a Before and After School Club which opens at 7.30am and closes at 6.00pm.The Head Teacher's name is Mrs Emma McGrath. On this web-site you will find information about the curriculum in each year group and about other school activities. There is also a copy of our prospectus.
