Y5 Winmarleigh Visit : file (20941.1k)

During April, Year 5 left school to go to Winmarleigh Hall, near Garstang.

There were three different groups; Crabs; Anteaters & Beavers. Usually when it got darker all the groups joined and did an activity together. Our groupie was Lisa. Mr Ballard was in charge of the Crabs; Mrs Hope was in charge of the Anteaters and Mrs McGrath was in charge of the Beavers.

We did lots of activities while we were there… Some were outdoor activities and some were science/ICT activities. Giant Swing was voted the class' favourite activity whereas Multivines was voted the scariest!!

One child in each group received a special certficate for their enthusiasm and participation, and these three have written this report. They are Saajida; Liv & Pearl. Well done to them!

Y6 residential visit to Robinwood Outdoor & Adventurous Centre

Robinwood is located in the North Pennines. The activity we thought was the best was the Giant Swing. What happened was your harness to a giant metal swing, hoisted up into the air by your teammates, strapped you and when you have reached the height you want you honk a horn. Then your team leader shouted ‘one two’ and then everyone shouted ‘pull the pooh’. Then you had to pull on a Winnie the Pooh bear. Then you drop for about 2 seconds and then perform a giant swing! One of the scariest activities was the Piranha Pool what you do is you start of by completing some challenges. Such as mazes, puzzles and of course the deadly Piranha Pool!!! Another one of the activities was caving.  You had to crawl around some man-made caves wearing a helmet with a torch on. There were lots of other activities and everyone had a great time!!!
